About Me

Since I first saw down at a keyboard in first grade, I've been in love with telling stories. I started as a writer, but my dream has evolved to encompass all aspects of multimedia storytelling. I also have experience in video, podcasting, sports broadcasting, social media and more.

My journalism journey began in undergrad at the Stanford Daily and KZSU 90.1 FM. After two incredibly rewarding years with Teach for America Memphis, I headed to Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism to attain a master's degree and the multifaceted skills required today. I graduate in August 2024.

I'm currently interning at the Daily Memphian as a general assignment reporter. My greatest passion and expertise are in sports, but I also have experience in general news reporting. I'm always open to pursuing new paths as well!

When I'm not working, I love to run, watch sports and hang with my wife, Meghan, and beagle, Grizzly.

Undrafted rookies fight to make Bears roster

The NFL draft was done. But for former Illinois defensive lineman Keith Randolph Jr., the show had just begun.

“When the draft is over, everything’s coming so fast,” Randolph said.

He was one of the highest-ranked prospects to go undrafted — and thus one of the biggest names on the undrafted free agent market. Mere hours after Mr. Irrelevant was named, Randolph signed a deal with the Chicago Bears reportedly worth $220,000 in guaranteed money according to Spotrac – likely almost $140,000 more

Roster crunch: Shortage of spots in the WNBA leads to widespread cuts

With the New York Liberty trailing by 26 points in a meaningless preseason contest, rookie Jaylyn Sherrod entered the game and immediately bodied up veteran Chicago Sky guard Dana Evans. Sherrod stripped Evans and streaked down the court for a sweeping layup. On the next possession, her physical defense forced another turnover. As the Sky called timeout, Sherrod fist-pumped despite her team’s large deficit.

It wasn’t meaningless to Sherrod. She was fighting for her WNBA future.

Buying season tickets to go to one game? That’s the Caitlin Clark Effect

EVANSTON, Ill. − Greg Mittelman just wanted to see Caitlin Clark play. As a University of Iowa alum living in Chicago, his best chance was the NCAA runner-up Hawkeyes’ Jan. 31 game at Northwestern. He tried to snag single-game tickets. But when they sold out in October – just days after becoming available – he found another option.

“I am a season-ticket holder for Northwestern women’s basketball,” Mittelman said.

He has yet to attend a game, but the investment was more than worth it. He purcha

Data Visualization

I created this visualization by scraping data from a Memphis-Shelby County Schools website before cleaning, analyzing and visualizing it here. This reporting uncovered new insights into a major education story in Memphis.

Interactive Visualization

This visualization is less about the data and more about providing an engaging experience for readers. Shortly after the 2024 NBA draft, I created these cards so that Daily Memphian readers could easily see the general manager's drafting resume. Click on each player to read more.
